May I once again thank you for your support and contributions. It is because of you that we are able to build on what we have and make progress with the prevention of crime in our large and diverse space. We have come to the end of our current camera project in terms of the funds that were available to us. Keep in mind this was the R100 000 that you had donated to us for this project. At the moment we have all but completed the project bar the two cameras that still need to be installed in Sunny Seas.
Our next focus will be on proper signage in appropriate locations. This will also require funding and we will drive this project according to income and donations. Once the signage has been completed, we can focus on more cameras and equipment for the Watch.
Kindly note that the provincial Department of Community Safety has decided not to allocate funds to OM in the near future. This will have an impact on the by-law enforcement programme to some degree.
We as Watch team have recently established a new partnership with the Vetus Schola security company based in Pringle Bay. The reason for this was to broaden our scope of intelligence and support. Vetus Schola has a specialized dog unit that will also be available to us here in Betty’s Bay if required.
We are looking forward to many more years of fruitful cooperation between residents and the Watch team.
