HCCC provides welfare services to the Hangklip community i.e. residents of Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. During the month of June we distributed 48 food parcels and prepared 503 meals.
Some of our members have expressed interest in playing Canasta and the offer has been extended to Canasta players to assemble with the Bridge players at Lakeside Chapel on Tuesday afternoons between 14h00 and 17h00 to play. Chess players are also welcome! Should you be interested, please contact Colin Cook on 066 527 5784.
Our semiweekly Pilates classes, semiweekly Line Dancing classes, weekly Bridge afternoons and monthly Friendship Circle meetings have continued as usual with Duplicate Bridge now added every second Tuesday afternoon too.
Following on from our HAIL (Home Assisted Independent Living) home carers’ courses in October 2022 and March 2023, we have set up carers’ support groups in each of Sunny Seas, Jock’s Bay, Central Betty’s Bay, and Silversands. Due to great demand another home carers’ course is planned for October. As part of our ongoing care-giving training, a refresher course was also held on 6 June to address some of the areas of care with which our care givers needed some extra training.
On Saturday 6 July we also had our first stall at the Crassula Market. The stall was well supported and was manned for us by Dagny du Toit, who also arranged with Shameez Joubert, the market coordinator, to kindly allow HCCC to have a stall at the market at no cost!
Please come and support our stalls at the monthly markets at the Crassula Hall, where you will find some beautiful and unique items.
