HCCC provides welfare services to the Hangklip community, i.e. residents of Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. During the month of August we distributed 50 food parcels and prepared 549 meals!
Some of our members have expressed interest in playing Canasta and the offer has been extended to Canasta players to assemble with the Bridge players at Lakeside Chapel on Tuesday afternoons between 14h00 and 17h00 to play. Chess players are also welcome! Should you be interested, please contact Colin Cook on 066 527 5784.
Our semi-weekly pilates classes, semi-weekly line dancing classes, weekly bridge afternoons and monthly friendship circle meetings have continued as usual with duplicate bridge played on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month
Following on from our HAIL (Home Assisted Independent Living) home carers’ courses in October 2022 and March 2023, we have set up carers’ support groups in each of Sunny Seas, Jock’s Bay, Central Betty’s Bay, and Silversands. Regretfully, due to recent circumstances beyond their control, Joy and Elizabeth have found it necessary to postpone this course, which we hope to conduct instead during the first quarter of 2025.
Please would all who remain interested or require further information contact Joy Rourke (WhatsApp 060 983 8446) or Sandra Du Plooy (WhatsApp 083 376 2567).
