HCCC provides welfare services to the Hangklip community, i.e. residents of Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay and Rooi Els. During the month of October we distributed 50 food parcels and prepared 615 meals!
IMPORTANT: On Wednesday 27 November we will be preparing our last meals at Lakeside Chapel, where we have been domiciled for many years. We are planning a move to the Crassula Hall early in December, and am indebted to the BBRA for accommodating our kitchen at Crassula Hall.
It’s been a very good year for our Bridge players, with the introduction of Duplicate Bridge this year. There will be no Bridge during December, but Bridge will kick off again on Tuesday 14 January at a new venue, to be announced. If you need more info, please contact Willemien Law on 072 368 8780. Chess and Canasta players are also welcome!
Our semiweekly pilates classes, semiweekly line dancing classes and monthly friendship circle meetings have continued as usual. There will be a well-earned break during December with these activities restarting from Monday 13 January in their usual venues and time slots.
Following on from our HAIL (Home Assisted Independent Living) home carers’ courses in October 2022 and March 2023, we have set up carers’ support groups in each of Sunny Seas, Jock’s Bay, Central Betty’s Bay, and Silversands. A further home carers training course is planned during the first quarter of 2025.
If you are interested in our activities or require further information please contact Joy Rourke (WhatsApp 060 983 8446) or Sandra Du Plooy (WhatsApp 083 376 2567).
On 30 November, 7 December, 14 December, 21 December, 22 December and 23 December HCCC will again have a stall with beautiful and unique lead glass and other handcrafted items at the Crassula market. Don’t miss this opportunity to bag something unique for those special loved ones in your life! Please visit our website regularly for future market dates: www.hccc.co.za/blog.
If you would like to know more about our activities and the work that we do, please visit our website at www.hccc.co.za or contact our secretary, George Green, at: ggreen@sonicmail.co.za.

May we take this opportunity to wish you and yours a peaceful and love-filled holiday season. May 2025 be a wonderful year for all!
