In November 2024 there were fifteen call-outs: eight medical, two motor bike accidents, one cycling accident, four injuries (three from falls & one deep laceration). Sadly, one patient died on a medical call. Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends.
In December 2024 there were thirteen call-outs: seven medical, two motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), two injuries (laceration & knee) and sadly two deaths. Once again our sincerest condolences to the families and friends. Both motor vehicle accidents occurred at the Hub and both involved two vehicles. There were four patients, three requiring hospitalisation, and six patients, two requiring hospitalisation, respectively. During our December break from 16 December 2024 to 6 January 2025 we responded to seven call-outs. Two of these occurred in January. Both were road accidents.
In summary: in 2024 there were 112 call-outs – 67 medical, 21 injuries, 18 road accidents and 6 deaths.
An important reminder to all: please have your medical aid information, a list of your current medication and medical history at hand as this will greatly assist with patient assessments and handover to the ambulance services when needed. We urge people to prominently display both the Erf number and street number on their property so that they can easily be found, particularly at night.
