On behalf of the Ratepayers Association my job is to assist our members in all queries and concerns related to respecting and preserving our biosphere way of life.
Our request for reducing the speed to 60km/h on the 10.4 kilometres of Clarence Drive through our village was submitted to the Western Cape Government on 27 March 2026. We have received a reference number and our request has been escalated and pushed forward.
A few months ago we secured two permanent new wildlife signs on Porter Drive that were installed two days after requesting them from the municipality. We hope to have more local animal signage in future and continue to work on it.
We have recently responded to a request for suggestions to prevent the misuse of our local waste management station. We are very hopeful that the matter will be resolved soon – an excellent response from the municipality and great teamwork by the Ratepayers committee.
Lights: The issue of very bright lights disturbing neighbours and nocturnal wildlife is high on my agenda. A plan is forming…
