Spatial Development Framework for Overstrand Municipal Area (OLM):

The status remains that the Overstrand Local Municipality (OLM) and the service provider/consultant are still busy sorting out the “Status Quo Report”.

Once we have more information, this will be communicated.

Roads:

  • The gravel roads on the western side of Betty’s Bay have been scraped.
  • OM/Contractor is almost finished with the central part of Betty’s Bay.
  • It is envisaged that the OM/Contractor will start with the scraping of the gravel roads in the eastern part of Betty/s Bay (Sunny Seas).
  • Once the scraping of the gravel roads in Betty’s Bay is completed, all work done will be inspected and, where required, scraped again.
  • The Contractor, together with OM, repairs potholes as and when they become aware of them or when they have been reported on the Collab App.
  • Unfortunately the bags of tar are finished. The Contractor is attending to this issue.  A new batch of tar will be ordered.
  • The gravel is also finished. Approximately 1000m³ has been ordered and should be delivered soon.
  • Please remember that the Municipality must be made aware of potholes via the Collab App. These will be addressed within the capacity of the Municipality, given working conditions (weather).

Storm Water:

  • The cleaning of storm water drainage systems in Betty’s Bay is being addressed.
  • It is important that the Municipality be made aware of storm water problems via the Collab App. These will be addressed within the capacity of the Municipality / given working conditions (weather).

Parking Areas:

  • OM will deal with the maintenance/upgrade of the Silversands parking area hopefully before end October 2026.
  • The parking area in front of Jock’s Bay Hardware / BB Glass will also be attended to soon.

Standing Note:

Residents must log issues on Collab themselves to get a reference number.  When a situation arises over a weekend and is urgent, the Control Room must be notified – 028 313 811
