OBSERVATIONS

It appears there is some confusion regarding the boundaries of the services we are subscribed to. There is no direct affiliation between the services we pay for and utilize. Here is a breakdown of the various services and how they are paid for:

  1. We pay Overstrand Municipality (OM) directly for water, refuse, sewage, and basic services. In addition, we pay rates for engineering, social development, community safety and governance.
  2. We pay directly to providers such as SONIC, ASK IT, and RAIN for WiFi services.
  3. Electricity is paid directly to ESKOM.
  4. Taxes are paid to the state for the maintenance of Clarence Drive. (Public Works)
  5. Taxes are also paid for the management and protection of our wildlife and flora. (Cape Nature)
  6. Taxes are paid for the management and protection of our wildlife and flora, as well as for anti-poaching units. (Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment – DFFE)
  7. Taxes support our local SAPS for various services.
  8. Some members also contribute fees and donations to BBRA for community activities, safety, security and collaboration with OM.

In the event of an issue with a service provider, it is important to contact that provider directly. BBRA and OM may assist in addressing concerns with service providers but do not have the authority to directly influence their operations.
