June 2024 was a very busy month with thirteen call-outs. This included two motor vehicle accidents with no or minor injuries and one major accident involving three vehicles and eighteen patients. Two doctors, all available BEST first responders, Pringle Bay Medics and five ambulance crews attended to the injured whilst Fire & Rescue secured and made the scene safe. This once again highlights the need for traffic calming measures in high risk areas along Clarence Drive.
44 callouts have been received in 2024 to date. The two new members who needed to rewrite the theory examination have done so and will continue to be paired with a certified member until the official results are received. A reminder to all: please have your medical aid information, a list of your current medication and your medical history at hand as this will greatly assist with patient handover to the ambulance services when these are required.
