In February 2025 there were six call-outs: three medical, one motor vehicle accident, one motor bike accident, one injury (laceration). The motor vehicle accident occurred on the R44 at the western Porter Drive intersection. The vehicle left the road and went down an embankment, both patients were uninjured apart from one suffering a slight head abrasion. The motor bike accident occurred on Disa Road. The patient had a fractured foot and was transported by ambulance to hospital.
An important reminder to all, please have your medical aid information, a list of your current medication and medical history at hand as this greatly assists with patient assessments and handover to the ambulance services, when the need arises. We urge people to prominently display both the Erf number and street number on their property so that they can easily be found, particularly at night.
For those who are not yet aware, a new emergency facility, Overberg Emergency Care (OEC24) opened in Harbour Road, Kleinmond in January 2025. They provide a service for both general and emergency medical care and can be contacted on 021 770 0053 for the On-Call Doctor.
