Equipment:

  • 3 “Diggers” are available, in working condition.
  • 1 “Grader” is available, in working condition. Currently being used in Pringle Bay. Once finished in Pringle Bay, the “Grader” will be moved to Betty’s Bay, hopefully on 17th June 2024.

Gravel/Tar:

Gravel:

    • 1000 tons of gravel are currently available in the Kleinmond/Betty’s Bay Yards.
    • An additional of 3000 tons of gravel will be delivered soon.

There are still 600 bags of Tar available. Potholes in tarmac roads are being repaired as far as possible.

Roads:

The Division: Streets and Stormwater is working hard to fix roads. The following work is scheduled for the next few weeks:

  • First priority: Drivers Road, Porter Road, Pine Street, Wheeler Road and Easy Road;
  • Second priority: Business Cresent, Lovers Walk and Shelter Road; and
  • Third priority: the “Blesberg Area” / Pine Road / Willow Road / Lakeside Drive / Partridge Road / Park Street.

Potholes:

c/o Harry Starke and Reed Roads: This will be investigated, and a solution presented.

Mirror:

The mirror for Seaview Drive will be installed no later than Friday, 14th June 2024.

Dawidskraal Parking Area: This will be investigated. The best solution probably will be for a Contractor to be appointed to fix this area as the damage seems severe.

Stormwater:

  • The issue in Luckhoff Road will be addressed from Wednesday, 12th June 2024, onwards.
  • The issues at Wheeler and Willow Roads: this will be investigated, and a solution presented soon.

Contractor:

  • The Contractor finished the work on Oxalis.
  • The Contractor is currently busy in Court Road.
  • The Contractor/ The Division: Streets and Stormwater will attend to the repair of the tarmac road at the entrance from Clarence Drive to Seaview Drive (Kleinmond’s side) during the week of Monday to Friday (10th to 14th June 2024).

The work to be done “depends on the weather conditions” for the next few weeks.

A BIG thank you to Brenton and his Team (The Division: Streets and Stormwater) who is doing their utmost best to deliver. The roads (i.e.) is in a much better condition than a year ago!
