Roads:
Equipment: There are three “Diggers” operating, all in working condition. There is one “Grader” operating, also in working condition.
Gravel/ Tar: 300 tons of gravel are currently available; 2000 tons of gravel will be delivered soon.Therefore, 2300 tons are available to do the job.
There are still 200 bags of tar of the 700 bags available. Potholes in tarmac roads are being repaired as far as possible;
An order for an additional 600 bags of tar have been placed. We are still waiting for it.
Brenton Baaitjies and his Team are working hard to fix roads / storm water drainage. Currently they have, amongst others:
- finished the gravel roads in the vicinity of the “Pikkewyn Area”;
- they are now busy in the “Blesberg Area – far west BB Area;
- Pine Road/Willow Road/Lakeside Drive/Partridge Road follow;
- the traffic mirror in the bend in Seaview Drive will be installed the week of 13 May 2024;
- the potholes in Disa Circle have been fixed;
- the potholes in Crasulla Road will be attended to.
The Contractor is finalizing the work on Oxalis and still needs to pay further attention to the repair of tarmac roads such as the entrance from Clarence Drive to Seaview Drive (Kleinmond’s side).
Fixing the roads is an ongoing process.
Storm Water:
An extra Digger and Mini Excavator will be deployed to clear storm water drainage systems in Betty’s Bay and Pringle Bay from Monday, 13 May 2024. This will also be an ongoing process.
