The OLM Traffic Engineer needs to investigate the influence on the “traffic flow” regarding the possible closure of street(s) / possible transforming to one-way street(s).

Building Control:
Stats for Building Plans for the period August to September 25: 25 submitted and 21 approved.

Spatial Development Framework (SDF) Overstrand: The Consultants are still busy with the status quo section for the SDF. Once done, it will be circulated for comments/input.
Overhills Low Cost Housing Project (Environmental Process)
Public meetings were held on 10 September 2025 at the Proteadorp Community Hall (cancelled), with a “virtual meeting” on the 11 September 2025.
A follow-up meeting was held on the 6 October 2025 (Overhills Community Center) and the 7 October 2025 (Kleinmond Town Hall):
The Environmental Authorization Process was presented/discussed.
All “interested and affected parties” will receive the presentation via email/link to the website. Hard copies will also be made available at certain points.
The Town-planning Process should commence in October/November 2025.
Vehicles:
Grader is in for service. A Roller and Grader will be contracted in to assist in the meantime.
One Digger is operational. One Digger is out of action.
The two 3 ton Lorries are operational.
One Tipper is operational. One Tipper is in for refurbishment.
The Lorry used for watering gravel roads is operational.
Currently gravel is being distributed between Pringle Bay and Betty’s Bay. Once the Grader and Roller are here, they will be used to gravel and scrape the roads – first in Pringle Bay and then in Betty’s Bay.
Gravel: 500m³ of the first order of gravel is available. A second order for approximately 2000m³ has been ordered.
Tar: Tar is available. An order will be placed before December 2025 to ensure enough tar is available over the festive season.
Speed Humps: The reconstruction of speed humps has been dealt with. Remains a contentious issue: Speed humps on gravel roads are most probably illegal as they cannot be clearly marked as required by Law. Chevrons alone are inadequate as the hump itself must be painted/marked.
Cutting of verges: The Parks Division is responsible for this and must be reported to them. The S/W Team in BB is also attending to this issue as far as possible and great progress has been made.
Stormwater problems/Potholes: As the Municipality becomes aware of problems, they are addressed within the capacity of the Municipality and given working conditions (weather).
